1) Not many young adult books take place in the middle-east I love how the landscape, animals, and culture of the middle east is explained in this book. Saudi Arabia has such an extensive history that I wish more young adult books would make the most of. 2) The villain has intriguing motivations (I'm not here to spoil anything) Although, I will say that the villain's intentions are very complex and piecing the clues together was wonderful. 3) The description is jaw-dropping The descriptions are STUNNING! The lush, mosaics, cuisine, paintings and flowers, are wonderfully described in this book. Every page makes you feel like you're immersed in Shazi's life and you can't get enough! 4) The basis of the book is amazing I love the tale of A Thousand and One Nights and (I'm ashamed to admit) that I might even like this version better! The story is a well-known one, but not used enough in retellings, especially in the young adult genre. 5) You can tell Renee Ahdieh spent a lot of time researching for this book The Wrath and The Dawn's glossary is brilliant. It's full of terminology I never knew previously! It was delightful to flip to the glossary and discover new phrases from a different culture. I absolutely loved it! 6) A new spin on the classic story of "Aladdin" Although this book isn't specifically about Aladdin, it is incorporated into the book and I loved how the two stories were connected. 7) The clothing is exciting and differs from the norm of young adult books I love the sirwal trousers and fancy jewelry, it was fun to read about and always left me wondering what outfit was next. 8) You savor every moment The Wrath and The Dawn is one of those books where you barely look at the page number because you're in denial about how the pages are flying. 9) The plot twists were well thought out All of the twists and turns were surprising while still being plausible. 10) The characters are fun Although a strong main character and villain king is seen a lot throughout the young adult genre, the characters don't feel like tropes.

Have you read The Wrath and The Dawn? If so, did you or did you not enjoy the book?
